If you want to face, I use a fly cutter with a carbide bit same as Larry. In fact, I've come to rarely use an end mill over 3/8" on my Rusnok---and I have the later one with a collet capacity of 9/16". When I first started using mine, I tried 1/2" end mills. They just seem so ungainly to me now on that machine.

Help identifying double taper collets
I recently bought a Tree 2UVR mill at auction and it came with a bunch of tooling and collets. One set (Z) fits the machine but in the door were a bunch of boxes of brand new slightly larger ones that I can't seem to find information on. They measure roughly 1.64 long which puts it between a Z(1.5)and ZZ(2.0) size.
